In recognition of all those who have fought and died for our country.
There was a wonderful parade and ceremony in Bitzer Park, hosted by the city of North Canton. Mayor Steve Wilder delivered an exceptional presentation, accompanied by distinguished guest speakers Dr. Carl Pace from Pastor Zion UCC North Canton, Robert “Bob” Oldroyd from the U.S. Navy (1957-1960), and Sgt. Matthew R. Persons from the U.S. Army and National Guard (1996-2011), who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, along with North Canton Middle School students.

The speakers shared their thoughts on Memorial Day’s significance for themselves and their community. It is important to honor not only those who made the ultimate sacrifice but also every U.S. veteran and their families. Many towns, both big and small, across this great country, including the City of North Canton, have expressed their appreciation for the individuals and families who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country’s freedoms.
