Magnificent Dukes

Marlington Dukes Showcase their talents down in Columbus.

One of the top contenders, the Dukes of Marlington, showcased their skills at Jesse Owens Stadium in Columbus. Recapturing the Division 2 4x800 state championship, with the help of Luke Ryan, Cohen Boyce, Logan Citino, and Colin Cernansky. These Dukes were on their A-game as they clocked a 7:50.98, which not only got them on top of the podium but was also the second-fastest time in school history.

Junior Colin Cernansky, a member of the DII 4x800 state champion team, also participated in the 1600m race. As a sophomore, he had won the 1600m race, and like the previous year he won again and kept his title. Colin now has four outdoor state championships.

Elizabeth Mason and Bella Graham, (Bella pictured right) also traveled down to Columbus. Bella placed 3rd in the 3200m. Elizabeth Mason took 10th in the 100m hurdles. According to Athletic Director Steve Miller, the senior girls have left a significant impact on Marlington as some of the most accomplished Duke athletes in history.

Bella will continue her career at the University of Cincinnati this coming fall. Elizabeth (pictured left) will also be continuing her athletic career at the University of Mount Union, where she will be a two-sport athlete in basketball and track.

Senior graduate Cohen Boyce, (pictured right) will be headed to the University of Mount Union, where he will be a two-sport athlete competing in both cross-country and track.

As for the three underclassmen Logan Citino, Luke Ryan, and Colin Cernansky, will continue to train with head coach Bob Dagenhardt to get back to Jesse Owens Stadium in Columbus.
